Winemaker Notes
Columbia Valley Vineyards are seated east of the Cascade Mountain range. Up to 14,000 feet high, the mountains effectively block eastward-moving wet weather systems from the Pacific Ocean. Just 6 to 8 inches of rainfall reach the growing region annually. Vineyards are 100% drip irrigation. The soils have low fertility and low water-holding capacity, allowing precise control of vine growth patterns. Vines are planted north to south on south and southeast facing slopes.
Food Pairings
Pair with a variety of pastas and pizza with tomato sauce, since the sharp flavors of the tomatoes balance the acidity of the wine. Other good pairings include barbecue or grilled meats, brie and cheddar cheeses.
Tasting Notes
“Strawberry, cherry and cola aromas and flavors harmoniously flow into the silky and soft palate that culminates into a long velvety finish.”
WineChump Notes
We had our first taste of TWO VINES about a year ago during a wine tasting that pitted 16 wines against one another at a friend’s house. That was a lot of wine. Among the winners was a $27 Chappellet and, yes, the $7.00 TWO VINES! So, $27 or $7? It’s certainly worth a try, or, well, three!
