Notes from the Producer

This is the wine to choose when you’re looking for vivid, mouth-filling fruit flavors. Our Mountain Cuvee is a winemaker’s blend that beautifully expresses the distinctive qualities of the traditional Bordeaux varietals, and is crafted for early consumption. Each component making up the cuvee contributes nuances that mingle with and complement each other. The result is a complex array of aromas and flavors that deliver pure pleasure in a glass.

Tasting Notes

Crafted around a core of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2007 Mountain Cuvee is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Aromas of plum, fig, and cherry-cola lead to similar flavors that coat the palate. A full, round, and juicy mouth-feel give the wine a seamless quality. With tannins tucked into the body of the wine, a strawberry essence lingers on the finish.

Vineyard Notes

A dry, warm spring in 2007 resulted in early budding, bloom, and set up on Pritchard Hill. The summer growing season was decidedly on the mild-to-cool side with few heat spikes. There was an initial flurry of harvest activity around Labor Day, but then temperatures cooled, which allowed picking to proceed at an even pace.
