Producer Notes

The purple-colored 2006 Big R Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from a 45-year-old vineyard and aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak. It exhibits an attractive bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, black currant, and blackberry. This is followed by a full-bodied, structured, concentrated Cabernet with plenty of savory black fruit flavors, good balance, and a lengthy finish. Enjoy it from 2010 to 2018. 90 points, The Wine Advocate #181 (FEB 2009) .

WineChump Notes

This is a wonderful wine from the now defunct Grateful Palate, which I discussed when I wrote about Grateful Palate Airwines First Class.  This Chris Ringland produced wine has a beautiful nose, dark ruby color, and a wonderful finish.  The 2006 may be reaching its peak now, so I grabbed up the last of it I could find from B-21.com.  If you are able to find this wonderful wine, pick it up.
