Producer Notes

Classic Chardonnay coloring of pale golden straw, the bouquet draws you in with delicate nuances of wet stones, lichee, white peach, orange blossoms, and a slight hint of toasted almonds.

The palate is soft and fleshy with a delicate smoothness and fantastic weight throughout. Loaded with bright citrus tones of sweet mandarin and Meyer lemon, along with white nectarine, and rich tropical notes of guava, pineapple, and lichee, all complemented with subtle sweet oak. This is the wine to bring to that next big dinner party or business lunch– get ready for the kudos.

I went to Chateau Montelena a year and a half ago, and I really enjoyed the tasting and the grounds at the winery.  On display was one of the original bottles from the 1973 “Judgment of Paris” wine competition.
